The Ministry of Electricity announced that it had obtained the Prime Minister’s approval to allocate 1,500 dunams of residential land in four governorates to the General Electric Power Transmission Company/Southern Region.

Minister Ziyad Ali Fadel said in a statement followed by Al-Raya, “The approval obtained from the Prime Minister came after tireless efforts, and out of a keenness to support the Ministry’s staff,” indicating that “an instruction was issued to the Ministry of Finance/State Real Estate Department to allocate residential lands in four governorates.”

He added, "The decision includes allocating (1,000) dunums within the administrative borders of Basra Governorate, and (500) dunums distributed among the governorates of Dhi Qar, Maysan, and Muthanna."

The minister pointed out that “the allocation of these lands comes in line with government directives supporting the empowerment of employees and improving their housing conditions,” revealing that there are similar steps for the rest of the formations operating in the Ministry of Electricity.
