The Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, issued a decision to return Bassem Khalaf to his position as District Commissioner of Abu Al-Khasib District. A source told Al-Raya that Al-Eidani appointed Khalaf to his position by an official decision, about two weeks after his dismissal and the appointment of Zaid Al-Imara to temporarily manage the tasks of the District Governor. Al-Eidani had decided to relieve Bassem Khalaf from his duties without an official announcement explaining the reasons for the decision, contenting himself with naming a temporary replacement, “Zaid Al-Emara,” an employee in the governorate office, to take over the administration of the judiciary from a lower position.
