The Sunni Endowment in Diyala issued a directive prohibiting imams and preachers from broadcasting sermons on social media platforms and websites. It was stated in a document obtained by Al-Raya that “the directive was issued based on the books of the Islamic Guidance Department, and includes a circular to all Sunni Endowment supervisors in the governorate, stating that the sermon must be prohibited from being broadcast or shared via social media.” The document stressed that the imam or preacher bears the legal and administrative consequences in the event of violating this directive.
