The High Commission for Human Rights in Basra called on the members of the House of Representatives in the province and the investigative committee specializing in the file of Dr. Ban Ziad Tariq, may God have mercy on him, to commit to providing it with all the details of the investigations related to the case.

The Commission stated in a statement followed by Al-Raya that this comes in accordance with Article 102 of the Iraqi Constitution, and its Law No. 53 of 2008 (Article 6), which obliges all ministries and entities not affiliated with a ministry and all bodies to provide the Commission with all information related to its work.

The Commission added that it calls for a significant expansion of the investigation to ensure reaching the truth, as well as the necessity of involving Iraqi forensic experts and scientists to ensure the integrity of the investigation and the sobriety of the final forensic report.
