Today, Tuesday, the Independent High Electoral Commission excluded candidate Bashir Al-Hajimi from the electoral race.

A statement followed by Al-Raya stated that the Board of Commissioners voted unanimously during its extraordinary meeting on the recommendation of the candidate eligibility audit committee, formed by Ministerial Order No. (79) dated July 16, 2025, to exclude the aforementioned candidate from the list of candidates for the parliamentary elections scheduled for next October, based on the provisions of Article (7/Third) of the amended Iraqi Council of Representatives Elections Law No. (12) of 2018.
