The Independent High Electoral Commission announced the exclusion of a number of candidates from running for the House of Representatives elections, while giving other candidates 72 hours to verify the validity of their positions, including Yazan Mishaan Al-Jubouri. Documents from the Commission, followed by Al-Raya, stated that the Board of Commissioners discussed the minutes of the committee formed by Ministerial Order No. (79) on 7/16/2025, and after deliberation among the members, the recommendations of the committee for examining the eligibility of candidates were approved, which included excluding some names due to the presence of judicial rulings against them, or for their involvement in corruption cases, or for seizing or freezing funds.

According to the minutes, the following were excluded:

• Zirk Ghayath Hassan Rashid

• Basman His Highness Nakhush Rasho

• Rebin Shaker Abdul Ahmed

• Sirwan Muhammad Khadr Younis

• Ismail Khadir Khadija Kajal

The Commission gave other candidates, including Yazan Mishaan Al-Jubouri, 72 hours to submit any documents proving their eligibility and the soundness of their legal position.
