Representative Durgham Al-Maliki announced that he had obtained the approval of the Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, to refer the Al-Deir Hospital project to the implementation stage, stressing that this step represents a real response to the demands of the people of Al-Deir District and the surrounding areas. Al-Maliki stated in statements followed by Al-Raya that the project constitutes a priority because of its direct impact on improving health conditions, noting that more than 250,000 people will benefit from the hospital’s services. He pointed out that the project had been stalled for years due to the lack of preparation of the land by the concerned departments, confirming the site’s current readiness and suitability for construction, and stressing the need to expedite the completion of the project to address the acute shortage of medical services in the region.
