Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Construction revealed the achievement of advanced stages in the work of tunneling the conveyor lines within the Great Basra Water Project, especially through the Karma River crossing and the main crossings of the project.

The Ministry stated in a statement received by Al-Raya that its engineering teams have completed about 25 kilometers out of 37 kilometers representing the total length of the conveyor line, while the General Directorate of Water continues to implement the remaining work according to the specified timetables.

She pointed out that the Great Basra Water Project is considered a complement to the Basra Water Project in its third and fourth phases, with a production capacity of up to 200 thousand m³/hour, with the aim of delivering potable water to the city center, enhancing the quality of life, and reducing the burden of water shortages in the governorate.

The Ministry confirmed that the completion of the main expressions contributed to accelerating the pace of tunnel laying of pipelines, pointing out that the first phase is approaching completion after reaching advanced completion rates.
