A number of residents of the Minawi Lajm area in Basra Governorate organized a protest, objecting to the decision to change the company implementing the project in the region, which is the “Sky Water” Company.

Participants in the protest said that the decision to stop the company’s work and hand over the project to another company was issued at a time when the work had reached advanced stages, stressing that the completion rates reached between 60 to 70 percent.

The protesters added that they had noticed a clear improvement since the current company entered the region, expressing their refusal to introduce any new company for fear of delaying the completion of the project or its failure, and demanding that the concerned authorities reconsider the decision and ensure the continuity of work without interruption.
