The General Secretariat of Shiite Shrines in Iraq has begun completing the procedures for implementing a number of shrine projects in Basra Governorate, after obtaining official approvals, most notably the shrine of Abdullah bin Aqeel, brother of the ambassador of Imam Hussein, Muslim bin Aqeel, and the Zaid bin Sohan shrine project, in addition to other projects that are still in the process of fundamentalist procedures.

This came while the General Secretariat of Shiite Shrines honored the head of the Legal Committee of the Basra Provincial Council, Zahraa Al-Salami, in appreciation of her legal and administrative efforts in adopting and obtaining official approvals for the establishment of shrine projects, in the presence of the head of the Provincial Council, Khalaf Al-Badran.

Al-Badran stressed that the Shiite shrines are important religious facades and landmarks that reflect the identity of Basra and its historical authenticity, stressing the support of the Provincial Council for all projects that contribute to the development of this sector, due to its religious, cultural and service importance.

For her part, Al-Sulami called on the General Secretariat delegation to submit studies and plans for shrine projects to the Provincial Council for the purpose of studying and approving them, stressing the role of the Secretariat in promoting religious awareness and culture, especially among the youth, and guiding them towards the correct moral path.

In turn, the Director of Projects at the General Secretariat of Shiite Shrines, Engineer Ali Hassan, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Basra Governorate Council and the Chairman of the Legal Committee for their active role in completing the legal procedures and obtaining official approvals, stressing that these efforts reflect continuous work and careful follow-up to meet the needs of Basra and its institutions.
