The Mayor of Al-Zubair District, west of Basra Governorate, denounced the statements issued by the Director of the Basra Municipality, Firas Abdul Khaleq, and considered them a clear violation of legal powers and an unacceptable interference in the work of government departments and the Mayor’s administration.

The District Attorney confirmed, in a statement, that the Judicial Administration is working according to clear service plans and projects and in coordination with the local government in the governorate, stressing that it is not concerned with any individual assessments that are not based on facts or legal powers.

The District Attorney called on the higher authorities to put an end to such violations, calling on the municipal director to focus on his basic work tasks, especially addressing the issue of waste and environmental pollution in the Zubair district.
