The representative of the Al-Hikma Movement, Ali Shaddad Al-Faris, demanded the immediate removal of the zoo in the Al-Zubair district, and the transformation of its location into entertainment areas that serve the people of the district, confirming the presence of serious legal and health violations that have accompanied the park’s work since its establishment.

Al-Fares said, in a press statement, that official reports proved that the zoo contains smuggled animals that lack approved health and veterinary certificates, which constitutes a direct threat to public safety, in addition to being a clear violation of the applicable laws.

He added that the investor in charge of the project violated the legal principles adopted in investment, and violated explicit judicial decisions issued regarding the site, calling on the executive and supervisory authorities to take urgent action to implement the law and put an end to what he described as “disregarding public health and the prestige of the judiciary.”

Al-Faris stressed the necessity of investing the park’s land in real entertainment and service projects that are worthy of the people of Zubair and contribute to improving the environmental and service reality of the district, instead of continuing with projects that he described as “random and illegal.”
