The Basra Governorate Council approved the inclusion of kidney failure patients within the government program designated for the treatment of incurable diseases, by referring them to specialized hospitals inside Iraq and the state covering the treatment expenses.

The Chairman of the Governorate Council, Khalaf Lafta Al-Badran, stated that the decision falls within the Council’s efforts to enhance the health situation and reduce the financial burdens on patients, pointing to the Council’s commitment to providing the necessary medical care for critical cases that require advanced treatments within national health institutions capable of performing this role.
