The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Adnan Faihan Al-Dulaimi, called on the heads of the parliamentary blocs to expedite the submission of the names of their candidates for membership in the parliamentary committees, stressing that deciding this entitlement without delay is a pivotal step to completing the institutional structure of the legislative authority and enabling the Council to perform its constitutional powers efficiently.

Faihan said, in a statement issued today, Monday, that the Presidency of the House of Representatives is continuing to complete the formation of parliamentary committees as soon as possible, as they are the basic tool for organizing parliamentary work and drafting legislation, stressing that the disruption of this file reflects negatively on the effectiveness of legislative and oversight performance.

He pointed out that the current parliamentary session will give top priority to legislating detailed laws directly related to the lives of citizens, and in a way that meets their economic, service and social needs, in parallel with activating the Council’s oversight role seriously and strictly in following up on the government’s performance, ensuring good management of public resources, safeguarding public money, and consolidating the principles of accountability and accounting in accordance with the Constitution and applicable laws.

Faihan concluded by emphasizing that completing the formation of parliamentary committees represents an essential gateway to reorganizing parliamentary work and enhancing the street’s confidence in the legislative institution.
