The coordination framework called for resolving the presidential file within a short period, warning that the continued disruption of state institutions is not consistent with the magnitude of the political, economic, and security challenges facing the country, following its regular meeting No. (262), which was held on Wednesday evening, February 4, 2026, in the office of Mr. Ammar Al-Hakim.

In a statement issued after the meeting, the framework stressed the necessity of respecting the constitutional timings and adhering to the periods stipulated in the Iraqi Constitution, stressing that exceeding these entitlements exacerbates the political stalemate.

Regarding the Kurdistan Region, the Coordination Framework stressed the importance of the political forces in the region paying serious attention to the proposals presented by the Framework delegation during its recent visit, considering that interaction with them represents a gateway to accelerating political consensus and ending the existing state of obstruction.

In this context, the framework called on its representatives to be free in their choices in the event that a single candidate for the presidency of the republic is not reached, stressing that going for this option comes within the framework of addressing the political impasse, and not to dedicate it to it.

On another level, the Coordination Framework renewed its categorical rejection of the use of Iraqi territory to attack any country, in compliance with what was stipulated in the Iraqi Constitution, stressing at the same time its call on the security forces to take more necessary precautions, while exercising the utmost restraint towards any provocations, in order to avoid giving any pretext that might be exploited to target Iraq or destabilize it.
