The head of the Al-Sadiqoun parliamentary bloc, representative of Basra, Uday Awad, announced that an effective mechanism had been reached for the Popular Mobilization Forces’ land file.

Awad stated in a statement published by his media office that due to time constraints, it was agreed to pay the amount of the plots of land from the amount of operational expenses, while the wages will be collected later from the fighters. 

Awad stressed that the file is being followed up by him personally and by all members of the Al-Sadiqoun bloc until it is completed.

Awad accompanied the statement with an official letter signed by the head of the Popular Mobilization Authority on 2/1/2026, stating a request to the Ministry of Finance to fund the authority’s operational expenses account.
