The Basra Health Department clarified the circumstances of a clip circulating on social media in which a citizen appears complaining about the lack of biological treatment in front of the consultant at Basra Teaching Hospital.

The department stated in a statement that biological treatment is prepared centrally by the General Company for Marketing Medicines and Medical Supplies (Kimadia), according to the approved mechanisms and controls, stressing that it is not available in the local markets at drugstores and pharmaceutical companies, and it cannot be provided through direct purchase.

She explained that the Pharmacy Department of the Basra Health Department does not have the authority to prepare this type of treatment outside the context of central ministerial preparation.

The department called on the media and social media users to adopt official channels to inform Basra Health Department when there are inquiries, to ensure the accuracy of the information and avoid confusion.
