Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Water Resources confirmed the success of its plan to manage the wave of rain and torrential rains that the country is witnessing, with these measures expected to continue until the end of this week.

The Ministry explained in an official statement that “the National Center for Water Resources Management has prepared a preliminary operational and storage plan aimed at maximizing the use of rain and flood water and enhancing water storage.”

She added, “All the ministry’s formations were mobilized throughout the governorates to control the water and ensure that no damage occurs.”

The Ministry indicated that the measures aim to support water storage, secure drinking water, strengthen the agricultural sector, revive the marshes, and improve the water environment of the Shatt al-Arab.

The statement confirmed that the ministry “will issue a detailed report after the wave recedes, including the quantities of water achieved and its impact on the water situation in Iraq.”
