Today, Saturday, the head of the Security Committee in the Basra Provincial Council, Aqeel Al-Fariji, announced a complete suspension of travel and trade operations at the Shalamcheh land border crossing, following the exposure of vital facilities on the Iranian side to air strikes. Al-Fariji said, "The movement of passengers and trade exchange operations through the Shalamcheh port between Iran and Iraq was completely disrupted, after the passport building on the Iranian side was subjected to an air strike." The security committee in Basra had confirmed the martyrdom of an Iraqi citizen at the Shalamcheh crossing as a result of the aggression against which the crossing was subjected.
