Today, Friday, the Ministry of the Interior announced the implementation of a qualitative lightning operation carried out by the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, in one of the regions of southern Iraq, targeting a major international drug trafficker, in direct response to the martyrdom of a number of the Ministry’s employees during their security duty yesterday.

The Ministry stated in a statement that the operation was to avenge the blood of the righteous martyrs, and within the framework of ongoing security operations to pursue drug trafficking and smuggling gangs.

She indicated that the operation resulted in the seizure of about 40 kilograms of dangerous narcotic substances, explaining that the substances included: heroin, crystal, and Captagon pills.
