Hussein Allawi, advisor to outgoing Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, presented a different account from the information reported by the Wall Street Journal report about Israel’s establishment of a secret military site in the Iraqi desert.

Allawi said that what happened was an airdrop in an attempt to capture something that fell from the sky in the Iraqi desert, during the ongoing war between America and Israel on the one hand and Iran on the other, but intelligence information from a “sheep herder” of the Iraqi security forces spoiled the operation after the Iraqi forces headed to the scene of the accident in the Najaf desert, which was subjected to an attack that resulted in the death of a soldier and the wounding of two others, in addition to the damage of two “Hummer” vehicles belonging to the Iraqi army.

While Allawi insists that the force that carried out the landing was “unidentified,” he says in his new statements that Iraq expected this force to be affiliated with the international coalition, but the latter denied its connection to the matter, stressing that there is no Israeli military base in Iraq, and that the information that came in the Wall Street report was inaccurate and was trying to raise certain issues.
