Diyala Governor Adnan Al-Shammari issued a court order to form an investigative committee to investigate the facts regarding the loss and disappearance of a herd of deer from the natural reserve located in Mandali district, east of the governorate. According to an official document, the committee was formed from agricultural engineers from the Natural Resources Department and the Diyala Agriculture Directorate, and the committee began its tasks to prepare a detailed report on the incident and submit it to the governor’s office. Mandali Reserve is one of the protected environmental sites within the natural balance areas in Diyala. It includes rare species of deer and wild animals. The loss of the herd raises questions about the protection and monitoring mechanisms within the reserve.
