The Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced the return of a number of major international airlines to resume flying through Iraqi airspace, in addition to an increase in transit flights for other companies, indicating that this is a clear indication of restoring confidence in the efficiency of Iraqi air navigation services and the stability of the regional situation. In an official statement issued by the Ministry's media office, followed by Al-Raya, the Ministry confirmed that the airlines that returned to using Iraqi airspace include French, Russian, Uzbek, and Indian airlines, in addition to several international airlines and shipping companies, especially from Türkiye, India, and Europe. The statement referred to the confirmation of the Director General of the General Company for Air Navigation Services, Dr. Abbas Sabbar Al-Baydani, that this return reflects increasing confidence in the technical and supervisory readiness of Iraq, thanks to specialized cadres and modern technologies that conform to the international standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The Director of the Air Traffic Department, Mr. Mudar Thamer, also explained that the company is continuing to develop the air navigation system by updating the systems and training programs for air traffic controllers, while ensuring the provision of safe and organized navigation services in accordance with the highest international standards. The statement concluded that this step represents an important addition to revitalizing Iraqi air traffic and increasing transit aircraft, which strengthens Iraq's geological position and supports the national economy and the civil aviation sector.
